Opportunity:

An opportunity exists in PSG, AB, Canada office for a highly motivated Procurement Manager, to join our multidisciplinary team. In this role you will be involved end to end sourcing and project delivery across several fields, including engineering, construction, civils, and product manufacturing as well as the opportunity to work in a truly cross-functional environment and challenge stakeholders of all levels from across the business, for the greenfield, brownfield, commissioning projects ranging in size and complexity. The successful candidate will also be responsible for providing technical mentorship to junior and intermediate mechanical staff. Stakeholder management, interdisciplinary coordination, communication is required soft skills towards developing and maintaining new and existing clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop competitive sourcing strategies, actively engage suppliers, professionally negotiate contracts, and resolve performance issues
  • The formulation, negotiation, and implementation of robust CAPEX contracts that always offer minimum risk to clients with SLAs included considering the Total Cost of Ownership.
  • Lead the Procurement of all CAPEX being the single point of contact for all procurement matters during all phases of project execution to deliver projects across multiple sites
  • Demonstrated experience of operating in a Project Management capacity, leading the delivery of end to end Procurement projects
  • Knowledge of commercial purchasing procedures and practice including negotiation and contract law
  • Stakeholder management & participation in business development
  • Writing standards & procedures for the subject domain
  • Provide strong technical mentorship to junior and intermediate mechanical engineers and technologists.

 

Capabilities and Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering or Management
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience
  • Experience with SAP or other similar programs would be beneficial.
  • Accreditation from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply while not essential is a benefit
  • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams
  • Effective communication within the team and with stakeholders
  • An experienced user of the relevant Program tools, techniques
  • Demonstrated technical writing skills; capable of writing reports, proposals, letters, and technical specifications.
  • Proven success in developing new business with existing clients and maintaining positive relationships.
  • Good organization, coordination, and project management skills to maintain project schedules and budgets.
  • Ability to bring a wide variety of stakeholders together to meet tight deadlines.
  • Good verbal communication and soft skills.
  • The ability to work in English and French is considered an asset.
