An opportunity exists in PSG-Project Services Global, ON, Canada office for a highly motivated Intermediate Quantity Surveyor (Architectural), to join our multidisciplinary team. Stakeholder management, interdisciplinary coordination, communication is required soft skills towards developing and maintaining new and existing clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary Estimation Role, Participate/ Follow Standards & Procedures; Develop Estimate for all types (0-5); Unit Rate / Productivity Analysis; Location Factor development; Pre & Post contract cost management at various stages of tendering, Procurement management, Change management, Benchmarking & Risk analysis.
  • Contribute to Providing accurate financial control, analysis of drivers, and timely reporting Considerable experience of successfully delivery of Greenfield & Brownfield Environment.
  • Develop and implement the logistic plans to complete the work and ensuring that the schedule is met.
  • Manage and co-ordinate the preparation of deliverables.
  • Coordinate internal consistency, completeness, and accuracy of project data.
  • Coordinate with multiple Project Managers and the cost team to agree/discuss project status including contract values and assist Program Team in the determination of monthly updates to cost budgets.
  • Quality Control – Ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Participate in summarizing projects for status including contract values, estimates to completion for the Program Controls Director and Client leader
  • Participate in, Knowledge management, standard procedures, best practices, and techniques throughout all phases of the project.
  • Participate in peer reviews of engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications within the team.
  • Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages.
  • Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates, and products and hence improve the service provided to clients

Capabilities and Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience
  • Thorough understanding and application of cost management functions within a program control environment
  • Experience of working within the consultancy sector.
  • Experience of working in the Canadian construction market.
  • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams.
  • Effective communication within the team and with stakeholders
  • An experienced user of the relevant Program tools, techniques
  • Demonstrated technical writing skills, capable of writing reports, proposals, letters, and technical specifications.
  • Good organization, coordination, and project management skills to maintain project schedules and budgets.
  • Ability to bring a wide variety of stakeholders together to meet tight deadlines.
  • Good verbal communication and soft skills.
  • The ability to work in English and French is considered an asset.
