Opportunity:
An opportunity exists in PSG-Project Services Global, ON, Canada office for a highly motivated Junior Quantity Surveyor (Architectural), to join our multidisciplinary team. Stakeholder management, interdisciplinary coordination, communication is required soft skills towards developing and maintaining new and existing clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Secondary Estimation Role, Participate/ Follow Standards & Procedures; Develop Estimate for all types (0-5); Unit Rate / Productivity Analysis; Location Factor development; Pre & Post contract cost management at various stages of tendering, Procurement management, Change management, Benchmarking & Risk analysis.
- Assist in Providing accurate financial control, analysis of drivers, and timely reporting Considerable experience of successfully delivery of Greenfield & Brownfield Environment.
- Assist to develop and implement the logistic plans to complete the work and ensuring that the schedule is met.
- Assist to manage and co-ordinate the preparation of deliverables.
- Assist to coordinate internal consistency, completeness, and accuracy of project data.
- Assist to coordinate with multiple Project Managers and the cost team to agree/discuss project status including contract values and assist Program Team in the determination of monthly updates to cost budgets.
- Assist to participate in summarizing projects for status including contract values, estimates to completion for the Program Controls Director and Client leader
- Assist to participate in, Knowledge management, standard procedures, best practices, and techniques throughout all phases of the project.
- Assist to participate in peer reviews of engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications within the team.
- Assist in identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates, and products and hence improve the service provided to clients
Capabilities and Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience
- Excellent learning ability
- Exposure working within the consultancy sector.
- Exposure working in the Canadian construction market.
- Good communication within the team and with stakeholders
- Learn & adapt technical writing skills, capable of writing reports, proposals, letters, and technical specifications.
- Learn & adapt good organization, coordination, and project management skills to maintain project schedules and budgets.
- Good verbal communication and soft skills.
- The ability to work in English and French is considered an asset.
